AOI Logic Voting Booth
Problem Statement / Constraints
The circuit we had to design in this project was designed to mimic a voting scenario with four different "votees". They are the President, the VP, the Secretary and the Treasurer. The Presidents vote counts for two votes and if the vote passes, the red light turns on, but if the vote fails, the light remains off. The constraints of this project are very few, the only one is that is needs to be designed in AOI logic, which consists of AND, OR and INVERTER gates. Final Design This project was fairly easy, I thought the concept of the AOI logic gates was simple and the only difficult thing about this project was the boolean algebra portion that we used to simplify our Minterms (combinations of variables that provide a certain output) so we can use them to breadboard. Reflection If we were to do this project over i wouldnt change much, it is a good instructor of the basic principles of AOI logic design and boolean algebra simplification. I learned a lot from this project and I am glad i took the time to learn it as i think it might come in handy one day. |
Breadboarded Design
Gates in order from top to bottom AND, OR, INVERTER Breadboard Companion on the top is wired so that the switches act as the Votees such as the secretary and the Treasurer, and the Light works as the voting indicator. |
